History of the League
The Town and Country League was founded in 1955 and originally included Clearwater, Chatham Fish & Game, Minisink, and the Canoe Brook Country Club. Elizabeth Town and Country joined shortly thereafter, and the league is likely the oldest continually running competitive summer swim league in the country. Crestview, Noe Pond and Berkeley Swim Club eventually replaced Canoe Brook and Elizabeth T/C, forming the final group of six teams that remain in the league currently.
